Lukashenka Approves Draft Visa-Free Agreement With Thailand

Alyaksandr Lukashenka on March 16 signed a decree approving as a basis for negotiations a draft agreement between the governments of Belarus and Thailand on the mutual abolition of visas for holders of ordinary passports.

The draft agreement provides that citizens of Belarus and Thailand will be able to enter, transit through and stay in the territory of the other state without visas for up to 30 days from the date of entry. The total duration of stay must not exceed 90 days within a 365-day period.

Each side retains the right to refuse entry or shorten the permitted stay of any person on its territory in the interests of national security, public order and public health.

Belarus’s Foreign Ministry has been authorized to conduct negotiations on the agreement and sign it.
