Pavel Latushka, Deputy Head of the United Transitional Cabinet and Head of the National Anti-Crisis Management, held meetings with French government officials in Paris.
At the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, the politician met with Arnaud Gouillon, Director of the Department of Continental Europe, and France’s new Special Representative for Belarus, Michel Roux, who was appointed to the position two days ago.
During the meetings, the Head of the National Anti-Crisis Management spoke about the human rights situation in Belarus, the activities of democratic institutions and civil society, as well as the democratic forces’ strategy for resolving the political crisis through the organization of a roundtable.
He also met with Frédéric Petit, head of the parliamentary group on relations with Belarus’s democratic forces and a member of the French National Assembly’s Foreign Affairs Committee.
“During this meeting, we discussed the security situation in the region, as well as the argument that security in Europe cannot be ensured without domestic political changes in Belarus,” Latushka said.
