Kuchynski Holds Talks With Ambassadors of Ireland, France, Italy and Norway

Director of Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya’s Office in Lithuania Dzianis Kuchynski held a series of meetings with international partners in Vilnius. The main topics included support for political prisoners and the development of bilateral cooperation.

At a meeting with Irish Ambassador Sheena McHugh, Kuchynski thanked Ireland for joining the International Humanitarian Fund and for its €20,000 contribution. Ireland became the eleventh participating country in the fund, which provides assistance to released political prisoners. The parties also agreed to hold a bilateral conference in Ireland in 2026 focused on national identity and culture.

In talks with French Ambassador Lucie Stepanyan, the sides agreed to strengthen cooperation, discussing the possibility of implementing cultural projects and holding joint events in Vilnius.

During a meeting with Italian Ambassador Emanuele de Maigret, Kuchynski discussed the implementation of agreements reached during Tsikhanouskaya’s visit to Italy and continued dialogue on the country’s possible accession to the humanitarian fund.

Kuchynski presented updated information on the humanitarian fund, established on Norway’s initiative, to Norwegian Ambassador Atle Konta Midttun. The sides also discussed further cooperation, including the idea of holding a conference on energy security, the Office of Tsikhanouskaya said.

“Vilnius remains for us a key diplomatic hub, as well as one of the main centers of Belarusian democratic forces and civil society. Therefore, it is important for us not only to maintain established contacts, but also to consistently expand cooperation with partners,” Kuchynski said.
