Knihi.by Website and Several Books Declared “Extremist” in Belarus

The website of the Belarusian literature store knihi.by and its Instagram page have been declared “extremist materials”. The decision was made on March 23 by the Partizanski District Court of Minsk.

Three books by Belarusian authors have also been declared “extremist materials”: “Nastupny Prypynak – Smerts” by Kamila Tsen, “Tam, Dze Nas Njama” by Maks Shchur (his name is misspelled on the Information Ministry website as Maks Shnur), “Histarychnyja Pratsy Tom 1” by Aliaksandr Tsvikevich, and “Aposhnjaje Pakalenne” by Makar.

The list of “extremist” materials also includes:

  • Facebook accounts “Belarusy Volontery Belsko-Biała \ Wolontariuszy w Bielsko-Biała”, “Belarusy Florydy (Belarusians Of Florida)”, “Belarus RAZAM Berlin”, “Belarusians in Oxford”, and “Palesskaja Dabrata”,
  • Instagram accounts “pahoniapobac”, “americanbelarusfoundation”, “byaction_usa”, “Belarusian Miracle”, and “aija.stacenko”,
  • the TikTok account “tsukerka”.
