The “training session for military-liable personnel from among agricultural enterprise specialists” has ended in Belarus. The Defense Ministry’s press service reported this. In the summer, during the harvesting campaign, Aliaksandr Lukashenka ordered agricultural workers who were performing their duties poorly to be called up for military training.
“Over the course of two months, more than 170 military-liable personnel underwent an intensive combat training course at the 103rd Vitebsk Separate Guards Airborne Brigade: they passed practical exams in firearms, tactical, engineering and medical training. The participants also carried out tasks to cover the southern borders, including fortifying the terrain and conducting patrols,” the Defense Ministry said.
It should be noted that Aliaksandr Lukashenka had previously spoken about the call-up of 500 agricultural workers.
Defense Minister Viktar Khrenin addressed the participants at the end of the training session.
“Each of you, having undergone training, refreshed your knowledge and skills, and mastered the necessary actions, undoubtedly felt an inner readiness to perform tasks to defend the Homeland if necessary.
In the conditions of the tense military and political situation developing along the borders of the Republic of Belarus, the security of our country — and therefore of our home and our family — depends on each of us,” he said.
He emphasized that the participants had worked “as a single team.”
“In military affairs, much depends on coordinated actions, precise execution of orders and trust in one another. You demonstrated these qualities to the fullest while carrying out your tasks.
I am convinced that the experience you have gained will be useful to you in the future — both in performing your military duties and in everyday life, because success in any endeavor can only be achieved through responsibility, discipline and hard work. I believe that you successfully completed all the tasks assigned for the training period,” he said.
The participants were also presented with awards.
