Belarusian Central Election Commission Chairman Ihar Karpenka has arrived in Moscow, where he will observe voting for the formation of the Russian State Duma. Voting began today and will end on Sunday.
The CEC noted that this time Belarusians permanently residing in Russia have been given the right to fully participate in local elections. During Russia’s single voting day, voters will determine not only the composition of the State Duma, but also local councils and governors.
In Belarus, polling stations for Russian citizens will be open on Sept. 20 in Minsk, Brest, Vitsyebsk, Homiel, Hrodna, Mahiliou and Babruysk.
