Kabanchuk: Relay Transmitters on Border Destroyed by Ukrainian Drones

Relay transmitters on the Belarusian-Ukrainian border that had been used to coordinate Russian drone flights were destroyed by Ukrainian drones, according to Vadzim Kabanchuk, the United Transitional Cabinet’s representative for defence and national security.

“The relay transmitters were destroyed by Ukrainian drones. They physically no longer exist,” Kabanchuk said, without specifying the source of the information.

Kabanchuk was commenting on remarks by Belarusian Deputy Foreign Minister Ihar Sakreta, who warned that Belarus would use “its full potential” if the border were crossed from the Ukrainian side. The United Transitional Cabinet representative said the Belarusian authorities should not use the language of threats when addressing Ukraine.

According to Kabanchuk, an exchange of strikes between Belarus and Ukraine could have serious consequences for Minsk.

“Belarus’ own critical infrastructure could be affected, and the lives of our people, including our servicemen currently serving in the Belarusian Armed Forces, would be put at risk,” he said.

It should be recalled that on June 19, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy gave Aliaksandr Lukashenka one week to switch off the relay transmitters used by Russian drones, warning that otherwise Ukraine would destroy them itself. Last week, Zelenskyy said the relay transmitters had been switched off on June 22.

On June 30, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi said that Belarus had activated one relay transmitter but would not do so again.
