A special forces unit of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Ground Forces has arrived in Belarus for military exercises.
The Iranian servicemen will take part in joint counterterrorism exercises organized by the Commonwealth of Independent States and the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation. The counterterrorism forum, as part of which the exercises will be held, will take place in Minsk on October 7-8.
“At a time when enemies, as well as Western and European countries, are seeking to weaken the Islamic Republic of Iran’s ties with the countries of the region, participation in these exercises is a continuation of our country’s strategic cooperation with members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation,” the IRGC’s official information website Sepahnews reports.
