The International Gymnastics Federation has lifted all restrictions on Belarusian and Russian athletes.
“The Executive Committee decided to immediately remove all restrictions imposed on Russian and Belarusian athletes since February 2022,” the federation said following a meeting of its executive committee held on May 16-17 in Sharm El Sheikh.
Athletes from Belarus and Russia are now allowed to compete in gymnastics events under their national flags and anthems.
The federation governs eight disciplines: gymnastics, men’s and women’s artistic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics, trampoline and acrobatic gymnastics, aerobics and parkour.
