Large-scale inspections of the Belarusian Armed Forces and other military structures will continue. The Special Operations Forces are next in line, State Secretary of the Security Council Aliaksandr Valfovich said.
Aliaksandr Lukashenka instructed officials to complete this year the plan he approved at the beginning of the year, the Defence Ministry reports.
“The situation unfolding in the world today shows that we must keep our powder dry in peacetime. The president is concerned not only with inspections of the Armed Forces, but also with the ability of all structures within the military organisation to carry out their designated tasks,” Valfovich said.
The plan drawn up for the year covers all structures within the military organisation, with a particular focus on Armed Forces units.
“These are the foundation and the largest core of the state’s military organisation. In the event of external aggression, as the current situation shows, we first need to understand how capable our Armed Forces are of protecting our sovereignty, the territorial integrity of our country and our people,” Valfovich explained.
According to the state secretary of the Security Council, the next inspections will be conducted among the Special Operations Forces.
“We have already inspected several battalions in the North-Western Operational Command. The Special Operations Forces and other structures that have not yet been subject to monitoring and inspection will probably be next,” Valfovich said.
