Information Ministry Adds Two Books to List of “Extremist Materials”

The Ministry of Information has made a minor update to its list of “extremist materials”.

By a decision of the Partizanski District Court dated October 29, two books have been added to the list:

  • I. Antashkevich, “BELARUS. Memories of the Future or the Call for Change.” — Mozhaisk: Mozhaisk-Terra LLC, 254 pages.
  • S. Rudovich, V. Herasimau, “They Were Called by Holy Belarus: On the 100th Anniversary of the 1917 All-Belarusian Congress.” — Minsk: Knihazbor, 2017, 84 pages.

The Telegram chat “Чат 51 | Allah ist ein Schwuchel” has also been added to the list.

In Belarus, accusations of extremism are used to persecute opponents of Lukashenka and suppress dissent more broadly.
