A high-level conference dedicated to Belarus is being prepared at the European Parliament. It may take place in December 2026. Anatol Liabedzka, Tsikhanouskaya’s adviser on constitutional reform and parliamentary cooperation, held consultations with the team of Małgorzata Gosiewska, head of the European Parliament’s delegation for relations with Belarus.
According to the Parliamentary Channel, representatives of EU member states and EU institutions are expected to attend the conference, including European Parliament President Roberta Metsola and senior officials from the European External Action Service and the European Commission.
The conference programme is still being agreed, as is the full list of participants.
Ideas for cooperation in 2027 were also discussed, including organising a forum for godparents who have taken Belarusian political prisoners under their care, the 8+100 inter-party forum, and efforts to secure the restitution of property confiscated from Belarusians in politically motivated cases, among other initiatives.
