In the Hrodna region, GUBOPiK officers detained a 51-year-old official from the land management department of one of the district executive committees. He is suspected of accepting bribes.
According to the Interior Ministry, the official oversaw the allocation and provision of land plots to citizens for gardening and dacha construction. He received at least 10,000 rubles from seven local residents for plots in favorable locations and in good condition. The man was detained while receiving a bribe, the Interior Ministry reports.
Criminal cases have been opened. Other instances of bribe payments are being investigated. The detainee faces up to 10 years in prison. He is being held in custody and is providing confessions.
