A fundraiser has been launched to cover the farewell arrangements for Yan “Pamedor” Reuckij, founder of the “Belarusians in Warsaw” community. The target is 30,000 zlotys (about €7,000), needed to organize a farewell in Warsaw, transport his body to Belarus and arrange his funeral in his homeland.
“Pamedor was a person whose soul was reflected in everything he did. Whether it was the coffee he brewed for us or the smile he gave everyone he spoke to. A modest and calm person, he made our reality as Belarusian emigrants brighter and more vibrant. Saying goodbye to this man with dignity is important to all of us — friends, acquaintances and strangers alike. When you are far from home, the loss of one of our own is felt especially deeply, so let us give him a dignified farewell,” the organizers wrote.
