Eight more people have been recognised as political prisoners in Belarus, the Viasna Human Rights Centre reports. They are Halina Ustsiuhova, Viktar Masko, Anton Dakuchayeu, Inha Kaziuchyts, Siarhei Kazinski, Sviataslau Padvashetski, Dzmitry Zara and Aliaksandr Rutkevich.
As a reminder, Dzmitry Zara, a former Belarusian serviceman, joined the team of Valery Sakhashchyk after moving to Poland in 2022. In early 2026, he disappeared from Poland, and it later became known that he was being held in the KGB detention centre in Belarus, Reform.news reported. Security officials consider him an analyst for Sakhashchyk’s team. It is not known how he ended up in Belarus. Zara’s last Instagram post appeared on February 3, 2026.
According to Viasna, he is accused of facilitating the activities of a “terrorist organisation”.
