The Interior Ministry has added 11 more people to the “List of Citizens of the Republic of Belarus, Foreign Citizens or Stateless Persons Involved in Extremist Activities.”
Among them is former KGB officer Aliaksei Khralovich. In March 2022, he was sentenced to 10 years in a medium-security penal colony under the article on high treason. He was also stripped of his rank of lieutenant colonel.
Khralovich appeared in the ONT film “KGB Special Operation ‘Mankurts.’” The film said that he had handed recordings of conversations involving Natallia Eismant to administrators of the Telegram channel run by Stsiapan Putsila. The film claimed that the recorded conversations had allegedly been staged, but that Khralovich did not know this.
The “extremist” list now contains 6,917 names.
Belarusian authorities regularly use extremism charges to target political opponents and dissent more broadly.
