Former Kamunarka CEO Sentenced To Seven Years In Prison

Former CEO of the Kamunarka confectionery factory Siarhei Aniukhouski has been sentenced to seven years in prison and fined 1,000 base units (45,000 rubles). He has also been barred from holding certain positions for five years, the Prosecutor General’s Office reports.

The Supreme Court of Belarus found Aniukhouski guilty of:

• exceeding authority and official powers, committed out of self-interest and other personal motives and resulting in serious consequences (Part 3, Article 426 of the Criminal Code),
• accepting a bribe on a large scale (Part 2, Article 430 of the Criminal Code).

According to the prosecution, in 2022-2024 Aniukhouski knew that an innovative project to process cocoa beans was ineffective and financially unviable, but instructed his subordinates to include knowingly false information in the business plan and other documents concerning investment capital expenditures under the project, as well as its economic efficiency indicators.

In addition, in order to obtain funds from the Minsk City Executive Committee’s innovation fund, the former CEO arranged for knowingly falsified documents to be submitted to state authorities.

Aniukhouski also accepted bribes for himself and his wife from representatives of a supplier of cocoa bean processing equipment. In return, he promised to create favorable conditions for the implementation of the contract that had been concluded, as well as to facilitate contracts for the supply of equipment in the future.

The prosecution considers that Aniukhouski’s actions caused the state damage on an especially large scale.

The sentence has not yet entered into force and may be appealed.

Aniukhouski headed Kamunarka from 2021. Independent media reported on his detention in June 2024, but there was no official information about it. In June 2025, a new CEO, Aliaksandr Niachai, was appointed at Kamunarka.
