Former BelTA Deputy Head Siarhei Adziarykha Released — Media

Siarhei Adziarykha, the former deputy director-general of BelTA for ideology, has been released, “Nasha Niva” reports. In 2022, he was sentenced to five years in a penal colony for leaking official information to the Telegram channel “Nick and Mike.”

Adziarykha was detained in October 2021. He was accused of providing the “Nick and Mike” Telegram channel with confidential information about Alyaksandr Lukashenka’s work schedule. According to the case materials, at least 58 publications were made based on the information provided. In some cases, the publication of the information led to changes in Lukashenka’s schedule.

Adziarykha’s actions were classified as abuse of official powers (Part 2, Article 426 of the Criminal Code). The prosecution argued that he had undermined the authority and business reputation of BelTA and created public opinion about the corruptibility of officials and their dissatisfaction with the political course being pursued.

In 2022, Adziarykha was sentenced to five years in a penal colony and fined 500 basic units.

Adziarykha was recognised as a political prisoner. His sentence was due to end around July 2026, but, as “NN” learned, he is already free. He may have been released under an amnesty, as the charge was classified as corruption-related rather than “protest-related.” In October 2025, a person named Siarhei Adziarykha registered as a sole proprietor working as a taxi driver.
