Foreigner Violates Entry Ban To Visit Belarus For January Holidays

The prosecutor’s office of Minsk’s Maskouski district has opened a criminal case against a 39-year-old foreign citizen who violated a ban on entering Belarus.

According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, the man was deported from the country in September 2025 and banned from entering Belarus for six months. However, at the beginning of 2026 he returned to the country. The man came to visit an acquaintance during the January holidays and stayed for a long time in Minsk and the Minsk region without waiting for the entry ban to expire.

The criminal case has been opened under Article 371-2 of the Criminal Code, which provides for a fine, arrest or imprisonment for up to one year. The case has been transferred to the Minsk district department of the Investigative Committee.
