The Council of the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) has set conditions for the participation of athletes with Belarusian and Russian sporting nationality in competitions during the 2026/27 season. The decision was made on Sept. 1 at a meeting of the FIS Council in Thun, Switzerland, following consideration of the latest decisions by the International Olympic Committee.
Belarusian and Russian athletes, as well as accompanying personnel, may be allowed to participate in FIS competitions provided they sign a neutrality declaration based on a number of principles established by the federation. Compliance will be continuously monitored, and sanctions are предусмотрены for violations, the organization said.
Athletes are allowed to participate only in individual competitions. The use of national symbols, including flags, anthems and uniforms, is prohibited at tournaments. In addition, athletes must comply with all applicable FIS anti-doping requirements.
