Estonia Bans Transit of Belarusian and Russian Grain

Estonia has banned the transit of Belarusian and Russian grain through its territory. The ban took effect on October 1, Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna said on social media platform X.

“Russia attacks Ukrainian ports, blocks Ukraine’s grain exports and then looks for new routes for its own grain. Estonia will not provide one,” Tsahkna said.

According to him, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania are working together to ensure that Russia does not use the ports of the Baltic states for transit.

“Russia cannot wage a war of aggression and expect us to help keep its trade flowing. We will not help finance its war or make its aggression easier to sustain,” the Estonian foreign minister said.
