Energy Ministry Sets Quotas for Renewable Energy Sources

Belarus’s Energy Ministry has set quotas for the construction of installations using renewable energy sources to be allocated in 2026.

The total quota amounts to 38.747 MW, including 10 MW for projects using biogas, 5 MW for wood fuel and other types of biomass, 4.861 MW for solar energy, and 0.7 MW for hydropower.

“The established volumes have been communicated by the Energy Ministry to regional executive committees and the Minsk City Executive Committee. At this stage, work is being organised locally with potential investors and projects for the creation of new generation facilities based on renewable energy sources are being developed”, the ministry said.
