EDB: Inflation in Belarus Affected by Reduction in List of Regulated Goods

Inflation in Belarus in August was affected by a reduction in the list of goods subject to price regulation. This is stated in the Eurasian Development Bank’s weekly review of the economies of its member countries.

“Inflation in Belarus stood at 4.5% year-on-year in August 2026, up from 4.4% year-on-year in July, remaining below the 7% ceiling set for 2026. Price growth accelerated in the non-food goods segment to 3.2% year-on-year from 2.9% year-on-year. This followed a reduction in the list of goods subject to price regulation,” the statement said.

EDB analysts also noted that price growth for food products and services remained at the July level. Core inflation was also unchanged. In their view, all this points to moderate price pressures.

“We expect inflation to remain below the National Bank’s ceiling at the end of 2026,” the review said.
