The economic partnership agreement between the Eurasian Economic Union and the United Arab Emirates has entered into force, the Eurasian Economic Commission said. It was signed in June 2025.
The agreement provides for the liberalization of the trade regime: the UAE has granted preferential access for 86% of the product nomenclature, accounting for 98% of EAEU exports.
The average tariff applied to goods from EAEU countries is being reduced from 5% to 0.6%.
“The volume of concessions obtained, in our assessment, will allow exporters from EAEU countries to save up to $266 million annually on customs duties,” said Andrey Slepnev, Member of the Board (Minister) in charge of Trade of the Eurasian Economic Commission.
According to him, trade turnover is expected to increase by $5-6 billion in the medium term.
