Drones Hit Second Yandex Data Centre

A second Yandex data centre was damaged in a drone attack today. The company reported a strike on its facility in Kaluga.

“During the night of October 7–8, Yandex’s data centre in Sasovo was seriously damaged in a UAV attack. Its operations have been completely suspended. This morning, another attack targeted one of our data centres, in Kaluga. Part of the infrastructure has gone offline. No employees were injured in either Sasovo or Kaluga. Emergency services and our specialists are currently working at the sites,” the company’s press service said.

The data centre is located in the Grabtsevo industrial park. The company previously announced that the facility would house more than 3,800 server racks.

Yesterday, a Yandex data centre in Sasovo, in Russia’s Ryazan Region, was damaged in a drone strike. A fire broke out at the site.
