Dana Mall Director Charged with Negligence After Snow and Ice Fell on a Girl

The Investigative Committee has charged the 33-year-old director of the Dana Mall shopping centre with official negligence in connection with an incident in which a large mass of snow and ice fell on a 17-year-old girl.

The incident occurred on the evening of January 17, 2026. At the time, workers were clearing snow and ice from the shopping centre’s roof. The area where snow could fall had not been properly cordoned off. A large mass of snow and ice fell on the girl, who sustained injuries and was hospitalised.

According to investigators, the 33-year-old director failed to ensure that the area surrounding the building was safe and that equipment was operated in a way that posed no threat to people’s lives. He also failed to take measures to cordon off the danger zone. Meanwhile, the snow-clearing work was being carried out by workers who were not officially employed. One of them failed to ensure that it was safe to proceed and dropped a mass of snow from the roof.
