Customs Foils Illegal Import of Goods From Russia Worth More Than 300,000 Rubles

Belarusian customs officers have prevented the illegal import into Belarus of goods from Russia worth more than 300,000 rubles.

A vehicle carrying clothing, footwear and other goods was stopped at the 406th kilometer of the M1 highway. The driver presented documents for the cargo, but they were found to be forged, the State Customs Committee reported.

Administrative proceedings have been launched against the Belarusian declarant. He faces a fine of up to 50% of the value of the goods.
