Delegates of the Coordination Council of Belarus voted to establish a Commission on Social Affairs. The initiative came from the “Latushka Coalition and For Freedom Movement” faction.
The commission is expected to develop and coordinate approaches to social policy within the Belarusian democratic movement, as well as prepare proposals on the social policy of a future democratic Belarus.
Ryta Hatsikh, a representative of the “Latushka Coalition and For Freedom Movement” faction, was elected chair of the commission. Independent delegate Stanislava Tsiarentsyeva was elected her deputy.
“The creation of the commission will make it possible to establish a separate professional center for developing social policy within the Coordination Council and ensure its interaction with the work of other democratic institutions,” the Coordination Council’s press service said.
