The “Car-Free Day” campaign will be held in Minsk on Sept. 22. This was announced at a press conference at the National Press Center by Dzmitry Shunkin, deputy chairman of the Minsk City Committee for Natural Resources and Environmental Protection.
On that day, by decision of the Minsk City Council, drivers in the capital will be able to use public transport free of charge upon presenting their driver’s license and vehicle registration certificate.
A cycling event involving city officials will also be held in Minsk on Sept. 22.
On the morning of Sept. 21, residents who choose non-motorized transport or walking will be able to receive free fruit and informational materials at nine “vitamin points.” The points will be located at the entrance to Loshytski Park from Mayakouskaha Street, at Zaparozhskaya Square, at the entrance to the Central Botanical Garden, on Aeradromnaya Street, on Peramozcau Avenue near the Arena-City shopping and entertainment center, opposite 13 Dziarzhynskaha Avenue, at 93 Prytytskaha Street, opposite 22/1 Tashkentskaya Street, and in Kamarouski Square.
