BELPOL and the Mission of the Belarusian Democratic Forces in Ukraine have signed a cooperation agreement. The organisations intend to work together to hold the Belarusian authorities accountable for complicity in Russian aggression, combat sanctions evasion and disinformation, and protect the rights of Belarusians in Ukraine.
According to BELPOL, the agreement provides for the exchange of expertise, the preparation of joint information and analytical initiatives, coordination of efforts on issues of international accountability, and cooperation in humanitarian and human rights matters.
BELPOL said it conducts investigations, analytical work and documentation of the activities of the Belarusian regime. The Mission of the Belarusian Democratic Forces in Ukraine works with Ukrainian government agencies, civil society organisations and the Belarusian community. In particular, it addresses the legal status of Belarusians in Ukraine, including matters related to military service and social guarantees.
The organisations said their shared principles include support for a democratic Belarus, Ukraine’s independence and territorial integrity, the release of political prisoners and an end to repression.
The organisations view the signing of the agreement as a foundation for further joint work and stronger Belarusian-Ukrainian cooperation.
