Belgospishcheprom Increases Exports by 25%

Belgospishcheprom has increased its exports by 25%, driven primarily by sugar, confectionery products and rapeseed oil. Aleh Zhydkou, chairman of the Belgospishcheprom concern, said this in an interview with Belarusian television.

“We completed the first eight months with an increase in supplies of more than 25%, and I think we will maintain this pace by the end of the year. The main products currently driving our export potential are sugar, confectionery products and goods from the fats and oils industry, including rapeseed oil, as well as products from our food and brewing industries. Virtually every sector is contributing in one way or another to achieving this target,” he said.

According to him, demand for rapeseed oil in particular is growing, with markets in several countries opening up to the product this year.

“As part of the trend towards greater popularity and, probably, a healthier lifestyle, rapeseed oil is moving into a leading position for us, with foreign partners showing increasing interest in the product every year. For example, this year rapeseed oil is being supplied for the first time to India and to the markets of the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Myanmar. These are countries that had not previously worked with us. However, through our participation in international exhibitions and visits to our enterprises by business representatives, including those from these countries, we have been able to convince them of the product’s benefits. The broader trend towards a healthier lifestyle is relevant not only to us but probably to many people around the world,” Zhydkou said.
