BelGee Produced More Than 73,000 Cars in January-August

The BelGee plant produced 73,670 cars worth 3.86 billion rubles in January-August. The government press service provided the figures. Today, Belarusian Prime Minister Aliaksandr Turchyn is visiting the automobile manufacturing plant. The visit is focused on assessing the work carried out to develop the enterprise, which is building its own stamping workshop, as well as the plant’s performance.

BelGee exported 42,150 cars worth $690 million, while 32,900 vehicles worth 1.93 billion rubles were sold in Belarus.

According to the company’s director, Hienadz Svidzierski, the plant has produced more than 400,000 cars since it began operations, of which more than 100,000 were sold in Belarus.

“In 2018, the design capacity of our plant was 60,000 vehicles with a two-shift operation, whereas now the capacity of the paint shop has been doubled to 120,000. To achieve this, we had to upgrade the equipment. We are now using the most advanced technology, which has increased productivity and energy efficiency. To balance these capacities, we also reconstructed the welding shop. In 2018, we had around 35 robots; after last year’s reconstruction, there are now 70, twice as many. The reconstruction does not stop there, and this year we began construction of a stamping facility. Belarus is a manufacturing country, but there is no automated stamping production for large-sized components anywhere. That is why we came up with the idea of building such a facility,” he said.
