A Belarusian citizen may have ordered a provocation outside the office of Lithuanian company RSI Europe, which produces drones for Ukraine. LNK television reported this, citing its sources.
Several funeral wreaths and a photograph of the company’s head, Tomas Milašauskas, tied with a black ribbon were left outside the company’s building in Vilnius. Police detained the suspected perpetrator — according to LNK, he was a Ukrainian citizen. The broadcaster’s sources said he had been hired by a Belarusian to bring the wreaths.
Police have launched a pre-trial investigation. No information has yet been provided about the identity of the alleged organizer or the circumstances of the recruitment.
Milašauskas called the incident an attempt at intimidation and a provocation characteristic of Russian intelligence services. He said the company had previously faced attempts to disrupt its operations, including cyberattacks.
Almost simultaneously, similar wreaths and a photograph of one of the company’s executives appeared outside the office of defense group CSG in the Czech Republic. RSI Europe supplies Ukraine with FPV drones and remote detonation systems, while CSG produces ammunition and military equipment. Law enforcement agencies are investigating a possible link between the two incidents.
Photographs of the wreaths soon began circulating on social media and Telegram channels alongside Russian propaganda claims about the war and accusations that European defense companies were profiting from it.
Lithuanian authorities consider the incident part of Russian hybrid operations against European companies supporting Ukraine. Head of the National Crisis Management Center Vilmantas Vitkauskas said the suspect was detained thanks to enhanced surveillance and security measures introduced after consultations with defense companies.
