Brest customs officers found about 100 landscape irrigation nozzles that a 56-year-old Belarusian citizen had hidden in his car while entering Belarus from Poland, the State Customs Committee reported.
The man was traveling through the Brest border checkpoint and declared that he was not carrying goods subject to declaration and chose the green channel. During an additional inspection, the nozzles were found under the upper dashboard panel and beneath the upholstery of a passenger seat. Their value is estimated at about 5,000 rubles.
The goods and the vehicle were seized pending a court decision. An administrative case has been opened against the driver under Part 2 of Article 15.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses. He could face a fine of up to 30 basic units, with possible confiscation of the goods and the vehicle.
In addition, customs officers established that the man had imported spare parts and equipment worth more than €1,000, exceeding the duty-free import allowance. He was also held administratively liable for this violation.
