Belarusian Interior Ministry Introduces Georgian Police Attaché

Georgian Ambassador Giorgi Saganelidze introduced Police Attaché Davit Atabegashvili, who is responsible for liaison with law enforcement agencies, at the Belarusian Interior Ministry.

Interior Minister Ivan Kubrakou said the meeting should give new impetus to cooperation between the law enforcement agencies of the two countries. As an example of such cooperation, he cited today’s deportation from Georgia to Belarus of a person who was wanted on suspicion of drug-related crimes.

“We have good experience in countering extremism and terrorism and in other areas of our official activities, and we are ready to share our experience and, of course, assist with visits to significant places in our country”, he said.

Georgian representatives expressed their readiness to develop partnership relations in the areas outlined, the Interior Ministry’s press service reported.
