Belarusian Government Sharply Raises Export Duties on Hydrocarbon Gases

Belarus’ Council of Ministers has decided to sharply increase export duties on liquefied hydrocarbon gases. The document will come into force after publication and will apply retroactively to relations arising from June 1, the government press service said.

The duties will amount to:

  • for liquefied hydrocarbon gases — $131.6 per tonne (+$126.4),
  • for ethane, butane, and isobutane — $118.4 per tonne (+$113.8).

Export duties on these gases had been reduced to zero from June 1, 2025. Before that, they had also been zeroed from February 1, 2024, but were later reinstated and remained in effect from September 2024 through May 2025. The duties were again abolished from June 2025 and reinstated in April this year.
