The Belarusian Council of Ministers has set the volumes of state procurement of cucumbers and tomatoes to build stabilization stocks for the 2026/27 off-season. The relevant resolution was signed today.
The stabilization stocks are to receive 9,533 tonnes of cucumbers and 6,050 tonnes of tomatoes. Ten cucumber suppliers and five tomato suppliers have also been selected. Quality requirements have been established for the produce.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Food will regulate the wholesale prices for cucumbers and tomatoes. The prices must be set by September 1 in coordination with the Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade.
At the same time, the resolution adjusted the state procurement volumes for supplies of other vegetables and apples to the stabilization stocks.
