The Belarusian government has introduced mandatory size requirements for potatoes supplied under the state procurement program. The measures were adopted following public complaints this year about small potatoes being sold in stores.
According to a resolution signed by Alyaksandr Turchyn, the Prime Minister of Belarus:
The Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade (MART) clarified that the permissible size of potatoes for sale is now between 45 mm and 80 mm (previously 35 mm to 80 mm).
