The Belarusian Foreign Ministry recommended that Belarusian citizens take the situation into account when traveling to areas of Nepal, India and China.
A devastating flood caused by a landslide occurred on Aug. 26 on the border between Nepal and Tibet (China). The disaster was caused by an earthquake and unusually heavy rainfall. The landslide blocked the Bhote Koshi River. The disaster resulted in numerous casualties and extensive destruction.
According to the latest data, at least 350 people have died in Nepal. More than 1,300 people are reported missing in Nepal and China, including about 700 foreigners. A Belarusian citizen is among those reported missing following the flooding.
Belarusian citizens have been advised to observe personal safety measures and take existing risks into account if they need to travel to affected areas and adjacent territories of Nepal, India and China.
