A 35-year-old Belarusian citizen and a 21-year-old Ukrainian citizen have been charged with fraud in Warsaw.
They were detained near an ATM in the Bemowo district of Warsaw. “Both men repeatedly approached the ATM and nervously looked around,” the police said.
The detainees explained that they were withdrawing money using banking codes they had obtained. During a search, officers found more than 15,000 zlotys in cash and a bank card issued in another person’s name in the possession of the Ukrainian citizen. Investigators determined that the Belarusian and the Ukrainian had obtained the codes from victims through deception.
Both men have been charged with fraud. They have been placed in pre-trial detention for three months.
