Belarusian Detained in Poland With Sanctioned Inflatable Boat

A citizen of Belarus was transporting an inflatable boat to Poland, but during border control it turned out to be a sanctioned item. The boat was seized, the Lublin Customs and Tax Service Directorate in Biała Podlaska reported.

The Belarusian was entering Poland through the Terespol checkpoint. During inspection, Polish border officers found an inflatable boat in his car. Such goods are subject to sanctions and cannot be imported into the EU.

The man will face charges for smuggling. A notification of the sanctions violation has also been sent to the prosecutor’s office. The boat was seized as physical evidence in the case. Its value is estimated at 12,500 zlotys (about 3,500 dollars).
