A Polish carrier attempted to evade approximately 90,000 Belarusian rubles in customs duties by concealing a shipment of car parts among the declared cargo. Brest customs officers detected the violation at the Kazlovichy checkpoint on the Polish-Belarusian border.
According to the documents, the truck was carrying industrial and household chemicals. However, during an inspection, customs officers found an additional 250 car parts worth 385,000 rubles, the State Customs Committee (SCC) reports.
The carrier was thus attempting to save approximately 90,000 rubles in customs duties.
Administrative proceedings have been initiated under Article 15.5 of the Code of Administrative Offences. The article provides for a fine of up to 30% of the value of the subject of the administrative offence.
