Customs officers have discovered cash in a parcel sent from Germany to a Belarusian woman.
The parcel was inspected at the Minsk Postal Customs Clearance Point. The sender had declared cosmetics, clothing and food products. Customs officers noticed that a box of sweets looked unusual. They opened it and found €4,000 inside, the State Customs Committee reported.
Administrative proceedings have been initiated. The money has been seized pending a court decision.
The State Customs Committee reminds the public that sending cash of any amount and in any currency by parcel is prohibited.
