Belarusian Cigarettes Found in Freight Train and Truck Wheels at Polish Border

Polish customs officers discovered several batches of Belarusian cigarettes that were being illegally brought into Poland.

In Koroszczyn, a Belarusian truck driver attempted to smuggle more than 3,000 packs of cigarettes by hiding them in the wheels. He was fined 50,000 zlotys (about $13,000).

Another batch of cigarettes was discovered at the Kuźnica border crossing. Some 20,000 cigarettes were hidden in a freight train car traveling from Belarus. They are estimated to be worth more than 20,000 zlotys ($5,180).
