Belarusian Car Market Grows in October – BAА

Sales of new passenger cars in Belarus increased in October compared with the previous month. According to the Belarusian Automobile Association (BAA), nearly 10,000 new passenger cars were sold in October, up 2% from September. However, sales did not exceed the record set in August.

Compared with October last year, sales of new cars increased by 49%.

“Several brands, including BelGee, Geely, Lada, Haval and Avatr, recorded moderate growth compared with September. This trend indicates that the new passenger car market is stabilising at the high level it has reached,” the BAA said.

A total of 3,400 electric vehicles were sold in October, up 0.8% from September.

Meanwhile, the BelGee plant reported record results in October. More than 6,700 vehicles were sold, including over 600 BelGee X50 units, more than 620 BelGee X80 PHEV units, over 1,500 BelGee X50+ units and more than 1,430 Geely EX2 units.

Car imports totalled 2,500 vehicles last month, one-third of which were imported by individuals. The volume of imports fell by 21%.
