Belarus has restricted access from abroad to websites hosted in the country’s national internet segment. According to Hoster.by, the relevant order was issued by an authorised government body.
“In accordance with an order from the authorised government body responsible for coordinating cybersecurity activities in the Republic of Belarus, restrictions have been imposed on incoming traffic originating outside the national internet segment. The measures aim to prevent and minimise the consequences of cyberattacks exploiting critical PHP vulnerabilities (CVE-2026-109618/CVE-2026-109619). Websites will remain operational but will not be accessible from other internet segments (other countries). However, traffic from trusted networks operated by major search engine bots, including Yandex, Google and others, will be allowed,” the statement said.
Belarus is not the only country to have taken preventive measures. Several European countries have temporarily restricted access to some government websites.
Critical vulnerabilities in the PHP programming language were discovered by researchers from Calif and Wiz using OpenAI artificial intelligence technologies. They were disclosed on Wednesday. According to the companies, the flaws had gone unnoticed for more than a decade. Wiz described them as the most serious vulnerabilities identified with the help of AI. They allow hackers to execute code remotely on servers without authentication, install malicious software and steal data.
