Belarus Customs Seizes Man’s Car Over Hidden Auto Parts and Cosmetics

Belarusian customs officers found goods worth more than 4,000 rubles in a Belarusian citizen’s car that he failed to declare when entering from Poland, the State Customs Committee reports.

The man crossed the border through the Bruzgi checkpoint in a Peugeot and chose the green channel. During an inspection, customs officers found auto parts, cosmetics and other goods inside the car and in its hollow spaces.

The goods, as well as the 2011 vehicle, have been seized pending a court decision.

The man was issued a ruling holding him administratively liable under Part 4 of Article 15.5 of the Code of Administrative Offenses for failing to declare the goods. In addition, administrative proceedings have been launched under Part 2 of Article 15.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses for concealing goods from customs control. The article provides for possible confiscation of the goods and the vehicle.
