Belarus has improved the procedure for issuing electronic passports for vehicles, self-propelled machinery and other types of equipment. The relevant resolution was signed by Prime Minister Aliaksandr Turchyn.
The document regulates the issuance of electronic passports for vehicles, their chassis, self-propelled machinery and other types of equipment manufactured in Belarus or imported into the country.
It clarifies the procedure for issuing electronic passports for imported equipment to individuals, legal entities and individual entrepreneurs. A passport can be issued before the equipment is registered with the state or transferred to a third party.
In addition, electronic passports will be available to owners who did not themselves import the equipment from abroad but purchased it in Belarus. This will allow the registration of equipment purchased during a period when an electronic passport was not required for state registration.
To facilitate cross-border exchange of vehicle passports, the state-owned company Belvneshpromservice will be able to enter information from vehicle type-approval safety certificates into electronic passports.
The resolution also removes the validity period for extracts from electronic passports. Their validity will now be unlimited.
“The adoption of the resolution will regulate public relations with regard to the procedure for issuing electronic vehicle passports,” the Belarusian government’s press service said.
