Belarusian banks increased lending to individuals in June. During the month, they issued loans worth 1.82 billion Belarusian rubles, 200 million rubles more than in May. Compared with June last year, the volume of lending increased by 46%, according to data published by the National Bank of Belarus.
Overall, during the first six months of the year, the total value of loans issued by banks to individuals increased by 12% compared with the same period last year.
Consumer lending in January-June rose by 13.9% to 7.1 billion Belarusian rubles. Lending for real estate increased by 5.3% to 1.7 billion Belarusian rubles.
Household debt on bank loans increased by 582.9 million Belarusian rubles in June, reaching 31.72 billion Belarusian rubles as of July 1. Compared with a year earlier, household loan debt rose by 13.7%.
Outstanding consumer loan debt increased by 18.3% to 12.96 billion Belarusian rubles, while outstanding real estate loan debt rose by 10.8% to 18.73 billion Belarusian rubles.
As of July 1, individuals had 56.2 million Belarusian rubles in overdue loans, 0.4 million rubles more than on June 1. Compared with a year earlier, the volume of overdue debt increased by 10.7 million Belarusian rubles.
