In March, banks issued loans to legal entities totaling 17.5 billion rubles, 2.2 billion rubles more than in February, according to data published by the National Bank of Belarus. Lending increased by 25.2% compared with the same month last year.
The volume of loans issued over the first three months of the year rose by 17.3% compared with the same period last year, reaching 46.88 billion rubles.
Short-term lending in January–March increased by 17.5% year-on-year to 40.4 billion rubles, while long-term lending grew by 16% to 6.46 billion rubles.
Outstanding debt of legal entities to banks stood at 67.1 billion rubles as of April 1. It rose by 702.6 million rubles over the month. On an annual basis, total debt increased by 11.4%.
Debt on short-term loans declined by 2.7% year-on-year to 28.32 billion rubles, while debt on long-term loans increased by 24.6% to 38.77 billion rubles.
Overdue debt of legal entities to banks amounted to 245.6 million rubles as of April 1, rising by 23.9 million rubles in March. Compared with April 1, 2025, overdue debt decreased by 740.3 million rubles.
